Boost is Hiring a Remote Principal Management Consultant

Our consultants are experts in the areas of Accounting, Contracts, Human Resources, Recruiting & Sourcing, and Strategic Pricing and our passion is to guide and propel our partners towards success within this competitive sector.

BOOST is helping one of our clients, a fast paced and growing boutique organizational development consulting firm, hire a Principal Management Consultant. If you are an analytical, emphatic, value driven professional and interested in using your expertise in transforming business in the government, this role may be for you. This is a full-time, hybrid position based out of the Washington DC area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The primary focus of this role is to run a program of approximately 20 FTEs and work with clients in the areas of strategy, performance management, stakeholder management, and consulting.
  • Oversee project planning and supporting/executing projects that move federal government clients forward to achieve their mission priorities.
  • Developing and implementing strategies and plans, developing project deliverables, conducting analysis, and responding to client requests
  • This role includes leading a team to conduct one or more projects in strategy, business or organizational assessment, workforce assessment and human capital management, process improvement, change management and communications, or program support.
  • Ability to develop strategy for the Workforce and Planning Practice Area that aligns with
    • Overall business strategy
    • Client strategy and capability maturation
    • Business development and growth
    • Talent management and development within their organization
  • Provide talent management, succession planning, onboarding, recruiting and retention expertise.
  • Participate in or lead the development of talent management and recruiting deliverable content.
  • Review and write proposals and participate in business development (BD) activities.
  • Project work will include organizational transformation efforts that range from strategic planning to tactical implementation and a variety of product development (such as briefings, reports, plans and road maps, dashboards and other quantitative results displays, multimedia products, and others)

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred 4 years of work experience in Federal Government consulting managing a program and people (master’s preferred)
  • 4 years of work experience as a Program Manager and/or federal government contractor consulting, experience with a Federal Government agency and/ or DoD a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (masters preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to write and present clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, PowerBi and Tableau
  • Conduct thorough quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet the established quality standards and specifications.
  • Adhere to the principles of "See, own it, Solve it, Do it" to address issues promptly and effectively.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency and responsiveness to meet emerging needs and deliver high-quality results within designated timelines.
  • Attend meetings and actively contribute by providing valuable insights, facilitating discussions, and volunteering for next steps actions.
  • Proactively identify potential risks or challenges and develop proactive strategies to mitigate them.
  • Ability to stay up to date with industry best practices and technological advancements related to quality assurance processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certified.
  • Broad experience of HR processes and procedures in the DoD
  • Program Management experience with the Federal Government or DoD
  • Can provide examples of products (roadmaps, briefings, reports)
  • Can develop and facilitate high-level power point briefings.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives.

Soft Skills

  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management and leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively, both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Desired characteristics: Self-starter, proactive, comfort in engaging with others.

Work Authorization Requirements

  • Valid authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance (not needed to apply).

Place of Performance

  • This is a hybrid position with varied onsite requirements in the Arlington, VA 22027 area.
