Our consultants are experts in the areas of Accounting, Contracts, Human Resources, Recruiting & Sourcing, and Strategic Pricing and our passion is to guide and propel our partners towards success within this competitive sector.

We are currently seeking a well-qualified Accountant to join our team here at BOOST. This is a full-time, fully-remote position.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
  • Conduct reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Conduct and/or review reconciliation of bank accounts, and credit cards; proactively resolve reconciliation variances w/ junior level in a timely manner
  • Research, track, and resolve accounting and/or documentation discrepancies
  • Responsible for preliminary monthly and fiscal-quarter closings, preparing general ledger journal entries, and analyzing revenue recognition and expense variances for senior review
  • Compile reports/summaries of financial activity
  • Review and post journal entries and supporting documentation prepared by junior level accountants
  • Prepare and formally document month end journal entries
  • Process and reconcile payroll through third-party payroll providers
  • Effectively manage competing priorities within tight deadlines
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable weekly coding and management as needed
  • Cost Accounting application for projects
  • People and Expense assignment set ups in accounting system
  • Payroll journal entries and labor distributions
  • Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements
  • Comply with GovCon Regulations and be an advocate for compliance with clients
  • Researching, tracking, and resolving accounting and/or documentation discrepancies
  • Compiling reports/summaries of financial activity
  • Provide audit request support
  • Client communication
  • Maintain utilization goal of 80-85%
  • Work with accounting team towards client retention
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Experience & Education Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 2 years of government-contracting experience for multiple type contracts
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in public accounting, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, or auditing
  • Ability to manage multiple clients, assignments and deliverables
  • Understanding of all accounting and financial transactions to include project-based accounting, job costing, indirect cost tracking and rate calculations, reconciliation of accounts, and adjustments
  • Experience working with complex ERP systems like Unanet, JAMIS, NetSuite, and/or Costpoint; Experience with QuickBooks preferred
  • Must have working knowledge of FASB and GAAP
  • Knowledge of CAS, FAR, DCAA compliance

  • Solid project management skills with the ability to proactively manage a variety of projects and timelines
  • Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness
  • Ability to effectively complete individual tasks and work in a team environment

Work Authorization Requirements 

  • Valid authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred Experience

  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • Customer service experience preferred
