Under the general guidance of the physicians/providers performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasonographic procedures.

Receives patients, explains method of procedure and makes sure patient is comfortable. Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities. Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices. Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area. Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth.

Qualifications

Minimum EducationGraduate of program in discipline required.

Minimum Work ExperienceOne (1) year of radiologic/imaging experience preferred

Required LicensesDiagnostic Medical SonographerMust be registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).

Required SkillsCurrent American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer.Must have excellent communication skills with the patients, ordering physician and the Radiologist.
