Job Overview
This position is responsible for performing intermediate level accounting work related to the Hillsborough County Health Care Plan (HCHCP). Work includes reviewing/processing revenues and expenditures; customer/cost center/expense account reconciliations, and standard/intermediate level transactional reporting; and other fiscal related analyses. The position is part of a six-person fiscal team for the fourth largest budget in Hillsborough County government. The broad area of responsibility includes the HCHCP, but this position will contribute to other fiscal areas associated with the Health Care Services Department.
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will have two years’ bookkeeping or financial record keeping experience in the health care and/or human services fields. This experience should include at a minimum, reviewing billing information; preparation of standard health care claim batching and associated system entries: first-line internal and external customer liaison for billing and payment issues; and reconciliation of expense and revenue accounts. Additionally, this candidate will be experienced in managing invoicing processes as well as the oversight of PCard transactions/documentation. Customer service, to include analyzing system issues and quickly resolving them in compliance with internal processes, procedures and standards, is a high priority. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational skills required to multi-task as well as exceptional writing skills with a strong emphasis on attention to detail.
