Dispatcher
Do you love helping people? If you said yes, then The Towing Dispatcher job is right for you! Dispatchers are responsible for assigning drivers to towing calls. Dispatchers communicate with advocates as well as with tow drivers to schedule tows and make sure that services are delivered on time. Dispatchers are always available to answer any questions from drivers, help them avoid traffic issues, and keep them aware of inclement weather ahead. Tow truck dispatchers take calls for service, relay the requests to drivers, and monitor the progress of the tow. Using computer-aided dispatch systems, they keep records and prepare detailed reports of all calls and all communications with towing services. Dispatchers are required to stay in touch with drivers on the road, using phones, computers, or two-way radios, so they can solve problems and answer questions. For example, they can tell drivers which routes to take to avoid traffic jams.
Required Experience:
- Experience/knowledge of the towing/trucking industry
- Prior dispatch experience preferred not required.
- Experience working at a busy call center.
Essential Job Duties:
- Dispatch trucks for disabled or damaged vehicles.
- Communicate with advocates to gather pertinent information to assist in vehicle pick-up.
- Answer incoming calls related to dispatch and advocate service.
- Maintain contact with drivers and advocates.
- Confirm and document vehicle information.
- Work under time constraints.
- Assist drivers with administrative tasks.
- Assumes other duties as assigned.
