PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interact with end users for clarification of requirements.
• Plays an active role in the design, development and support of various software applications used by the academic business units at Bob Jones University.
• Writes program specifications as needed from business requirements as well as converts designs and specifications into computer code.
• Provides unit and system level test planning, scripting and execution to validate solutions.
• Provides technical assistance to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with programs.
• Maintains working knowledge of current technologies through peer interaction and independent study.
• Provides work estimates, schedules and progress reports as needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Working knowledge of object-oriented software technology
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Very good communication skills both written and oral
• Ability to work well with others
• Understanding of the University's goals and objectives.
