Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Marine Technician to join our service team in Albany, GA. The Marine Technician will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on various types of boats to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine maintenance tasks on boats, including engine tune-ups, oil changes, fluid checks, and hull inspections, following manufacturer guidelines and service schedules.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues in boats, utilizing diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical manuals.
  3. Repair or replace damaged or malfunctioning components in boats, such as engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems, steering systems, and plumbing fixtures.
  4. Conduct inspections of boat hulls, decks, and structures to identify any signs of damage, wear, or corrosion, and recommend appropriate repairs or maintenance.
  5. Install, repair, or upgrade boat accessories and equipment, such as navigation systems, audio systems, lighting, seating, and safety gear.
  6. Test boats after repairs or maintenance to ensure proper functionality, performance, and safety compliance.
  7. Provide technical support and guidance to customers on boat operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  8. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions.
  9. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  10. Collaborate with other service team members, parts advisors, and sales associates to coordinate workflow and deliver excellent customer service.

General Duties and Administration:

  • Report labor hours to Service Manager
  • Compile and submit parts requests to the Parts Advisor
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area
  • Actively pursue and participate in continuing education activities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a marine technician or similar role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills, with expertise in diagnosing and repairing boats and marine equipment.
  • Knowledge of boat engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, and hull structures.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools, equipment, and software used in marine repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work Saturdays
