Board of Stark County Commissioners is Hiring an Administrative Specialist Near Canton, OH

ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST

(Properties and Contracts)

This position works in the administrative office of the Board of Stark County Commissioners. The Administrative Specialist is primarily responsible for supporting the Manager of Properties and Contracts with reviewing, preparing and processing all documents related to capital improvement projects and all deeds, leases and easements held by the County as well as other agreements to which the Board of County Commissioners is a party.

A sample of illustrative duties include:

· Perform a variety of clerical, technical, administrative and office support to include composing and typing of letters, memoranda and other correspondence, prepare written reports in word and excel, make copies, process mail, and filing;

· Assist with the reception, review, preparation and processing of documents related to capital improvement projects; deeds, leases and easements; oil and gas leases; records of payment of real estate taxes paid on taxable parcels; road change program; and other projects and programs;

· Utilize County finance system; create and track purchase orders, review and process payment of invoices; and pay-in County revenues;

· Assist with the processing of requests to create tax abatement zones and process subsequent tax abatement applications;

· When required, distribute resolutions, correspondence, transcripts and contracts;

· Various items related to Annexations, Regional Planning and Sanitary Engineering;

· Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance; and

· Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· High School diploma or equivalent is required;

· At least three (3) years of office work experience is required. Preference will be shown to those with experience in the public sector;

· Possession of a valid State of Ohio driver’s license; and

· Must have basic proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher).

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position has been set between $21.00 and $24.00/hr. Final salary determination will be commensurate with experience and education.

This full-time position is eligible for health, dental and vision insurance and OPERS retirement benefits as well as other supplemental offerings.

The selected candidate must pass a pre-employment, post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
