VICE PRESIDENT-COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER (JOB NUMBER: BRA000301)

Business Overview:

The Marketing & Communications team oversees the marketing strategy of BNP Paribas in the Americas predominately that of Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) and the Group communications teams. The team provides marketing and communication support with the goal of strengthening and expanding the BNP Paribas brand and supporting revenue-generating opportunities in alignment with the strategic vision of BNP Paribas’ CIB platform to be the premier European CIB in the Americas for our clients. The team is also responsible for staff engagement across the platform through a variety of internal initiatives. The functions of this group include Marketing, Events & Partnerships, Media Relations, Social Media, Engagement Communications, Client Creative Services, and Video Services. This role will report to the Head of Marketing & Communications of Global Banking Americas and Financial Institutions Americas.

  • Physical presence in BNPP’s office(s) is an essential function of this position. This role will be hybrid, consisting of an in office and remote working component.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and execution of communication plan in support of the region’s key strategic initiatives and business goals.
  • Provide lead writing support for wide range of range of materials such as executive communications, talking points, blog posts, deal flashes, etc.
  • Cultivate collaborative relationships with internal and external resources to support activities.
    • Establishes good working relationships with internal teams including key business stakeholders and within the business and other marketing partners across the region.
  • Manage the development and distribution of content to various internal media channels (e.g. Echonet, Sharepoint, Eloqua, etc.)
    • Distribute pre‐approved communications from management, HR, and/or Marketing through appropriate channel(s)
    • Support the communications of Territory‐wide programs and Global Banking and Global Markets initiatives to which the department contributes
    • Deal wins/Landmark transactions
  • Develop and coordinate internal initiatives to foster employee engagement
    • Advise and organize internal events: town halls, training-focused activities (e.g. CIB Essentials), etc.
    • Define, distribute and gather post‐initiative feedback
  • Maintain editorial calendar for proprietary external communications channels
  • Working with appropriate CIB Americas MarComm team members to identify deadlines for deliverables
  • Working closely with Head of Marketing & Communications and other stakeholders to ensure content is provided accurately and approvals are timely
    • Coordinate the placement of key messages across channels
  • Must be able to write and modify content, e.g. headlines, captions and story summaries , to support the articulation of messaging
  • Maintain catalogue of pre‐approved key messages, in consultation with Head of Marketing & Communications and Media Relations
  • In consultation with Head of Marketing & Communications, coordinate collateral updates including country cards, brochures, slip‐sheets, presentations, etc. where there is a need for region-specific modifications
    • Maintain communication guidelines and policies
  • Perform and support additional projects at manager’s request, ad hoc

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5-8 years’ experience in marketing or communications, content marketing a plus
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, are essential, including ability to present concepts verbally
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong PowerPoint skills
  • Team player who can work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders at various levels
  • Ability to work independently
  • Flexible and able to work in a highly dynamic environment
  • Highly professional, can lead by example

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Previous experience in financial services industry
  • Must be a confident communicator and presenter
  • Proactively identifies obstacles and recommends solutions
  • Digitally conversant with strong written, oral, persuasive and critical thinking skills around internal communications channels

The expected starting salary range for this position in New Jersey is between $146,000 to $170,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
