BNL Consulting is actively seeking a Social Media/Marketing Assistant. This position will be on-site in Athens, GA. This is a part-time position - 10 - 20 hours per week. We are only considering applicants who reside in a HUBZone (Please see https://maps.certify.sba.gov/hubzone/map for details and to check your eligibility).
Job duties include:
- Assisting with developing a marketing strategy, performance metrics, and brand awareness
- Plan and schedule BNL's weekly social media content with the intent of growing our following, increasing our reach, and funneling traffic back to our website
- Scan credible, relevant sources for thought leadership pertaining to our industry and repost with critical engagement
- Engage with other relevant partners and brands
- Occasionally draft posts for BNL leadership
- Create social media performance analyses and leverage these insights to evolve and contribute to social media strategy
- Help maintain BNL's content library
- Create case studies and other handouts that demonstrate the expertise of our work
- Actively run, organize, and plan Marketing and Sales brainstorming sessions
- Work closely with BNL's graphic designer to create a cohesive sense of brand identity
- Write one or more blogs a month, regularly alternating between technical (content that demonstrates our expertise) and branding (content that develops our identity)
- Stay up to date on marketing/internet trends, finding ways to incorporate these advancements into our marketing strategy
- Support internal and external communications activities that may extend beyond social media, using critical thinking skills, writing, and industry knowledge.
The must-haves:
- The ability to comprehend complex information and simplify it for a general audience.
- The ability to work independently and regularly incorporate creative feedback.
- 3 years of blog writing experience
- 2 years of social media marketing experience
- 5 years of strong writing and communication skills
- 2 years of knowledge of social media management software
- 2 years of Google analytics knowledge
- 2 years of SEO management and keyword research
- Bachelor's degree or working towards degree in fields such as Marketing, Communications, English or Journalism
- Reside in a HUBZone (Please see https://maps.certify.sba.gov/hubzone/map for details and to check your eligibility)
The nice-to-haves:
- Experience with IT Technical Writing, for example, the ability to write blog posts about IT related topics
- Knowledge of the IT Solutions industry (Data analytics/visualization/warehousing/management, cloud computing, legacy application modernization, SAS software, etc)
- Experience working in government contracting
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Good self-starter/self-manager
