Ultimate Staffing is Hiring a Construction estimator Near Milwaukee, WI

Job Description :

Bid Coordination and Review :

  • Manage the entire estimating process for assigned bids / projects.
  • Analyze proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and estimate requirements.

Estimating and Scheduling :

  • Assist in the preparation of preliminary schedules for estimates.
  • Prepare detailed takeoffs and utilize historical data in bid preparation.
  • Consult with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive scopes of work and estimates.

Collaboration and Design :

  • Collaborate with engineers to develop bid designs for delegated design scopes.
  • Acquire knowledge of project-specific regulations and requirements for construction.

Quote Analysis and Monitoring :

  • Review and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor client changes and update the estimating team on all scope changes during the estimate period.

Contract Follow-Up and Project Turnover :

  • Follow awarded contracts, including estimating extra work items, change orders, and credits.
  • Work with the project management team on final buyout of materials and subcontractors.
  • Prepare turnover packages for awarded projects for the project management team.

Documentation and Optimization :

  • Maintain working documents as backup for estimate figures, ensuring current and accurate pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Search and analyze construction options for the most effective means and methods.
  • Understand and apply a best-value approach to winning new work.

Education and Experience Required :

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant estimating experience with a solid understanding of cost control, schedule tracking, material pricing, and estimating techniques.
  • Experience in heavy civil or commercial construction is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating software is preferred.
  • Design / Build experience is advantageous.

Salary Range

$80-150K, depending on experience & qualifications.
