BMH Equipment LLC is Hiring a Forklift Technician Near Elkhart, IN

Role:

Forklift Technician is to repair and maintain customer and company equipment in a safe and professional manner. Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, such as Forklifts, Scissor Lifts and Articulate Boom equipment, used in construction, logging, surface mining and warehousing. Work completed at customer site.

This role includes:

- Hourly pay (40 hours a week)

- Benefits (health, vision, dental, 401(k) w/ match)

- Company vehicle

- up to $1,000 signing bonus after 90 days of employment

Responsibilities:

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area including your company vehicle
  • Maintain positive customer relations
  • Follow all company operating and process procedures
  • Complete all repairs as directed using company and manufacture procedures and guidelines
  • Communicate with the dispatcher as required to maintain efficient and productive activity.
  • Traveling to customer sites

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
  • Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoist and hand tools.
  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Troubleshooting- determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. Repairing machines or systems using needed tools.
  • Equipment Maintenance- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Equipment Selection- Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do the job.
  • Installation- Installing equipment, machines, wiring or programs to meet specifications.
  • Operating Monitoring- Watching gauges, dials, or other Indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Problem Sensitivity- The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the
  • Problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  • Information Ordering- The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g.., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures mathematical operations).
  • Manual Dexterity- The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Near Vision- The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Multi-limb Coordination- The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
  • Control Precision- The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.

  • Turn in all warranty parts the same day as the repair
  • Wear required uniform and insure a professional appearance and attitude at all times

Working Conditions:

The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to wear protective equipment such as goggles, face shield, gloves, and work apron.
  • Frequently involves heavy lifting, pulling (up to 100 pounds) or working in awkward positions or lying on back working beneath truck.
  • Uses trade type tools or hand tools.
  • Typical work hours 7am to 3:30pm with ½ hour lunch break taken between 11:30am and 12:30pm
