BM2 Freight Services, Inc. is Hiring a Carrier Sales Representative Near Des Plaines, IL

The Carrier Sales Representatives (CSR) will be responsible for vetting, negotiating, booking, dispatching, and managing a portfolio of carrier relationships. CSR's priority focus is to build strong carrier relationships with network providers to ensure coverage for BM2 customer freight. They will expect to maintain a minimum of 5 carrier relationships that complete 10 or more monthly shipments. As well as cover a minimum of 200 shipments a month.

Essential Functions:
Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

  • Collaborates with Carrier Sales Team Leads & Carrier Sales Managers to cover unassigned shipments for their perspective team.
  • Carrier Sales Representatives will engage with carriers daily via phone with the expectation of having 2.5 hours of talk time daily.
  • CSRs will be assigned coverage responsibilities by the Carrier Sales Team Lead. They will have ownership in ensuring coverage for all assigned shipments.
  • The Carrier Sales team will work together to ensure freight is being covered in advance with the priority focus of hitting 70% prebooked for the following day.
  • CSRs have the weekly expectation of covering 50 shipments.
  • CSRs will be fully accountable for the shipments they cover, ensuring excellent customer/carrier service for BM2 clients. They will be directly responsible for dispatching each shipment they cover and follow the BM2 standard protocols.
  • Carrier Sales Representatives will understand the Carrier Sales Department goals and work together with co-workers to help achieve the team goals.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Required: 2 years of freight brokerage or carrier sales experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Preferred: Microsoft Office experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's or associate degree.

Additional Eligibility Requirements (e.g., Certifications):

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong typing and general computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced noisy environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple phone calls, while prioritizing by urgency.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations professionally and calmly.
  • Ability to work well with co-workers.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks quickly, while properly delegating tasks.
  • Ability to limit distractions to accomplish tasks as needed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Travel: Up to 10% travel may be required, including traveling to our Covington, KY Headquarters for 1 week of paid training based on your start date and company needs. Airfare and Hotel are covered by BM2. Restrictions apply and will be discussed upon offer and acceptance.
