BluPeak Credit Union is Hiring a Central Operations Specialist II Near San Diego, CA

Overview

Performs a wide variety of duties including but not limited to Check 21, ACH processing, Remote Deposit Capture including AFS and EWS review, Sharedraft, Monthly GL reconciliations, ATM balancing, IRA processing and reporting, Escheat processing and reporting, member account levies and Payroll Deduction processing. Reviews and relases wires, provides support to branches and other Central Operations functions under limited supervision of the Central Operations Director.

Responsibilities

  • Processes and/or provides backup to ACH Daily settlement, Same Day ACH, ACH exceptions, decedent account reviews, reclamations and ACH Origination.
  • Processes IRA transactions, monthly, quarterly and annual RMDs, completes IRA forms, assists staff in IRA related matters, completes IRA tax reporting and verifies IRA distributions.
  • Processes and/or assists in the account levies, escheat activities related to the annual escheat filing.
  • Processes and/or provides backup to Sharedraft processing, Check 21 processes, Payroll Deductions processing, Remote Deposit Capture and AFS and EWS review.
  • Processes and/or provides back up to PSCU, FSCC & ATM settlement.
  • Processes bank by mail and employee drop box items. Processes returned items and Co-Op adjustments.
  • Completes assigned general ledger (GL) reconciliations within assigned timeframes, ensuring reconciling items are cleared within 60-days.
  • Processes and/or provides backup to returned mail, sending out change of address forms as necessary.
  • Balance daily cashier’s checks issued.
  • Conducts research, makes adjustments and processes exceptions as necessary.
  • Provides internal and external customer service and operational quality in support of established credit union standards.
  • Follows established credit union policies and procedures, regulations and governing laws.
  • Provides clerical and system support as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience (specifically in Central Operations) and/or transferable experience in a credit union within Central Operations; experience in a financial institution is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to use Word for Windows, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications, as well as the ability to learn new applications quickly; requires general knowledge of network and database use.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to be able to resolve technical/complex questions regarding browsers configurations, financial software, and web applications.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal service skills with the ability to work with members, branch/contact center staff, and internal support departments.

  • Exceptional writing abilities including e-mail and letter correspondence using MS Word and Excel when needed.

  • Ability to use effective referral techniques to identify member needs, promote and cross-sell a variety of products and services. Flexible in acceptance of special duties as assigned by management.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management.
