Bluewater Technologies Group, Inc. is Hiring an AV Installation Technician Near Minneapolis, MN
- The technician will be expected to predominately be onsite at one physical client location to diagnose and repair AV systems of varying complexity.
- Be willing to engage in active and consistent movement tasks.
- Show initiative and look for ways to problem solve quickly and efficiently.
- Be knowledgeable in basic PC skills including Microsoft suite products.
- Protect and maintain Bluewater tools including company laptops.
- Troubleshoot & repair of AV equipment from varying manufacturers.
- Preventive maintenance and system tuning.
- Maintain equipment inventory.
- Interfacing with customer on behalf of Bluewater.
- Audio tuning and equalization.
- Color balancing of multi-display walls.
- Training customers on system operation.
- Interfacing with sales and engineering (job issues, interfacing with installation manager on job process and issues).
- Read Bluewater Construction and AV flow prints.
- Learn proper cable pulling techniques. This includes following a pull schedule, establishing cable paths, labeling, taping, service loops, fishing walls/conduits/cable tray.
- Acquire knowledge to distinguish wire type, usage, and color difference.
- Ability to train on the use of ladders, lifts, and power tools in a safe manner as required by OSHA.
- Gain skills to mount displays, projectors, speakers, screens, and cameras both from walls and ceilings.
- Learn to cut in wall plates, touch panels, and ceiling tiles.
- Enhance knowledge on how to terminate all wire types and connectors either by compression, crimp, solder, or punch down.
- Complete daily job reports, expense reports and checklists.
- Set-up of Crestron, AMX and Extron hardware.
- Ability to load programming provided by others to equipment.
- Knowledge of how to modify DSP, touch panel, and control processor coding.
- Exceptional professional communication skills internally and with clients.
- Superior organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a safe and clean manner respecting project site guidelines.
- Ability to follow direction from senior technicians.
