JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Environmental Services Technician in Hot Springs SD who will be responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas for patients/residents, visitors and associates by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines. The major challenge of this position is to perform duties in traffic areas and around residents/patients, visitors, employees and the public and to adjust these duties if necessary.
• Perform daily cleaning duties as scheduled by the supervisor, following specific established infection control procedures and standards for each area of assignment. Performs duties at assigned areas of the facility to ensure established standards of infection control are maintained. Demonstrate knowledge of infection control processes, tools and techniques in a healthcare environment; ability to apply this to provide a clean and sterile environment for patients/residents and facility staff. Ability to adjust to ensure that the needs of assigned areas are met. Work efficiently to contribute to an economical operation; interacts cooperatively with others to contribute to a positive work environment. Work according to prescribed safety standards to ensure that safe environment is maintained. Wear the proper protective equipment following the appropriate guidelines. Keep storage, equipment and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy. Environmental Services Technicians will have access to radios and other technology that they will be responsible to use appropriately when needed. Assist in the laundry areas as requested. Responsible for other related duties, including laundry duties as assigned by the Environmental Services Supervisor. Other responsibilities and duties as assigned on occasion, based upon facility needs and requirements.
• A High School diploma or equivalent. Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills. Minimum of six months environmental services experience in healthcare environment is preferred.
• Shift: Sunday- Thursday with Friday and Saturday off or Thursday-Monday with Tuesday and Wednesday off
