Medical Doctor - Emergency Medicine

Our company is looking for an Emergency Medicine physician to join our team to work with our esteemed clients.

Responsibilities:

•Treats a mixed patient population, across gender, age, and ethnicity, as well as insured and uninsured patients.

•Examines patients to determine general physical and emotional condition.

•Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines.

•Functions appropriately as part of care delivery team through efficient use of resources and skills, both their own and those of other provider and staff.

•Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient’s condition.

•Analyzes reports and findings and diagnoses condition.

•Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.

•Orders inoculations and vaccinations for patients to immunize from communicable diseases.

•Performs minor surgery within scope of practice.

•Refers patients to medical specialist or other practitioner for specialized treatment.

•Advises patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease.

•Records in the patient’s electronic record using established standards, in accordance with licensure and the scope of practice, physical findings and treatment rendered or anticipated, after a formulated plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.

•Reports births, deaths, and outbreak of contagious diseases to governmental authorities.

•Participates in provider staff meetings.

•Eligible to participate in Medicare and Medicaid. 

•Assists Medical Director in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating all medical and ancillary services at the hospital/Emergency center of responsibility. 

•Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards. 

•Maintains current standards of acceptable medical practice and participates in educational programs specific to patient care.

•Meets productivity standards and attends meetings and conferences, as directed.

•Participates in mandatory educational programs, in-service/training courses to maintain job competency skills. 

•Maintains effective communication and working relationships with Emergency center/hospital personnel in the community.

•Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals and monitoring the effectiveness of all interventions.

•Performs all credentialed medical procedures according to standards.

•Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the continuous Quality Improvement Plan to identify improvement opportunities and improve patient care.

•Adheres to unit specific safety and infection control standards. 

•Respects the rights, privacy, and property of others at all times including the confidentiality of information, according to administrative policies and all applicable laws and regulations.

•Role models behaviors of service excellence and performs all other related job duties as assigned.

Requirements:

•Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.

•Board certification in Emergency Medicine.

•Valid medical license in the state in which the physician will practice.

•Valid DEA license and certificate.

•Previous experience as an emergency medicine physician preferred.

•Strong analytical abilities to provide accurate diagnoses.

•Excellent decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills.

•Strong organizational, problem-solving, and research skills.

•Proficiency with computers and medical equipment.
