Through operational reusability, New Shepard supports our mission of lowering the cost of access to space.

As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers (use as appropriate), you will be part of integrating the design, development, test, build, and operation of various spaceflight systems for New Shepard. You will ensure that we achieve our goals by applying and growing your systems engineering skills to directly impact the development and expansion of the system. • Support a broad team by leading the creation of and/or modification of analytical models.
  • Perform complex integrated analysis for the New Shepard Program.
  • Provide engineering support and technical ownership for developing concept of operations, requirements, functional decomposition, system verification, validation, integration, test, and operation.
  • Apply technical knowledge with systems engineering principles, theories, and techniques to advance the program
  • Establish product and processes metrics that optimally measure and improve performance of supporting systems.
  • Identify and fix gaps in existing process, tools, infrastructure, and continually improve solutions along the way.
  • Working directly with lead systems engineers and technical program managers to plan and prioritize work assignments
  • Act as the systems engineering liaison for the project team, advancing issues where necessary
  • Supporting problem report and root cause investigations and dispositions
  • Support design and configuration leads by conducting change impact analyses
  • Develop system safety analyses and products such as FMECAs, FTAs, and FHAs
  • Support launch operations and mission readiness for the human-rated New Shepard vehicles
  • Support and lead design and operational gated reviews

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics.
  • Proven system development and integration experience – preferably within the aerospace industry or working directly with safety critical systems
  • Industry practice in Systems Engineering tools and processes.
  • Insatiable curiosity with a desire to navigate ambiguity and tackle complex challenges
  • Self-directed and capable of balancing several tasks at one time.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaborate in a dynamic, fast paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Travel expected up to 10% of the time
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful candidates will typically have 5-10 years of aerospace engineering experience.
  • Experience in design, analysis, test, operation, and/or certification of aerospace safety critical systems.
  • Experience supporting a project throughout all phases of the product development lifecycle
  • Experience with software tools such as DOORS, MATLAB/Simulink, Confluence, JIRA, Git, Creo, and Windchill
  • Experience in reliability, maintainability and supportability definition and execution
  • System Safety analysis experience including but not limited to FMECAs, FTAs, and FHAs
  • Basic project management skills including labor estimating and schedule management
  • Advanced technical degrees

Blue believes we must protect Earth by moving heavy industries that stress our planet into space, and enable humanity to access space to expand, explore, and find new energy and material resources. Then we can see a dynamic and abundant future for our grandchildrens grandchildren. There is no plan B for Earth. To enable this future, we must build a road to space to lower the cost of getting there. Blue is working on this today by developing... operationally reusable launch vehicles that are safe, reliable and highly available. Every launch vehicle is designed for human spaceflight from the beginning and able to ferry payloads to space. Join the mission to build a road to space - step by step ferociously. #GradatimFerociter More
