The primary function of the marketing department at Blue Marble Geographics is to develop and execute campaigns to maximize brand recognition and profits for the company. The role of the Marketing Outreach Assistant is to support the execution of marketing and administrative tasks as assigned by the Marketing Director.

Responsibilities of the Marketing Outreach Assistant include:

• Performs assigned tasks with great attention to detail, following Blue Marble Geographic’s standard operating procedures and brand guidelines.
• Researches and contacts department chairs at universities teaching courses using GIS technology tools.
• Presents information about Blue Marble’s Academic Programs to qualified universities in the U.S. and abroad.
• Serves as a liaison between universities using Blue Marble’s academic programs and the marketing and training departments.
• Undertakes daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the marketing department’s activities.
• Researches and evaluates trade show opportunities.
• Travels and works at conferences representing Blue Marble Geographics when needed.
• Produces a monthly analytical report with information from Google Analytics, social media channels, marketing CMS, and all other advertising channels.
• Manages the conference calendar. Responsible for fulfilling all deadlines related to marketing
• Maintains stock of promotional materials for conferences, including marketing collateral, booth parts, and trade show giveaways. Responsible for packaging marketing materials for conferences.
• Manages all email campaigns (content to be provided by content writer) from Pardot. Creates trackable links when needed and records results on monthly reporting.
• Inputs sales leads from conferences in Pardot within 24 hours of their receipt and follow up with a post-event email within 48 hours (content to be provided by content writer).
• Publishes press releases (content to be provided by content writer) to PR list in Pardot, online press release distribution sites, and on the Blue Marble Geographics website.
• Manages administrative tasks of GeoTalks, Blue Marble Geographics’ virtual conference.
• Maintains database hygiene by paying close attention to detail when entering data in Pardot to avoid typos and entering complete information for each lead (research may be required). Uploads a clean list to Pardot from the backend and cleans spam data from the list weekly.

• Performs other daily tasks as assigned by the Marketing Director and/or President of Blue Marble Geographics.

Position requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or English.
• At least two years of experience working in a sales or marketing role.
• Experience reaching out to potential new customers, including cold calling and follow-up.
• Excellent communication and writing skills. Ability to present information to highly educated audiences.
• Ability to work at the Hallowell office three days a week and two days remotely.
