Blue Jacket Inc. is Hiring a Career Development Coordinator Near Fort Wayne, IN

Incumbent would report to Blue Jacket's headquarters - 2826 South Calhoun Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana. This is a full-time salary, non-exempt position. $33,545 to $43,636 based on experience.

The Career Development Coordinator plays a pivotal role in our organization, reporting directly to the Programs Manager. Incumbent works as part of a team, where team members utilize their strengths to shape the future of Blue Jacket Academy graduates as they transition into sustainable careers. Following graduation, the incumbent will continue to provide guidance and support, contributing to continued growth for the client.

DUTIES:

Programs and Support:

  • Instruct Blue Jacket Academy clients in resume writing, interviewing, job applications, and related techniques.
  • Facilitate job-readiness training, integrating instructional methods like cognitive/behavioral programming.
  • Provide soft skills and employment-readiness training to Academy participants.
  • Develop and implement SMART goals and action plans for Academy clients, tracking progress and outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records in the Client Relationship Management (CRM) System.

Career Services and Support:

  • Coordinate job placements for Academy graduates, including transitional, temporary, permanent, and temporary-to-direct hire scenarios.
  • Identify and assess new employment partners to expand job opportunities for graduates.
  • Promote graduates and Blue Jacket programs through warm sales calls and community outreach.
  • Negotiate and prepare sales contracts, ensuring compliance with legal guidelines.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Blue Jacket clients and employers to enhance positive employment outcomes.
  • Provide on-site job coaching, accommodation assistance, and expedited customer service to employers.
  • Assist clients in identifying and addressing accommodations for community employment.
  • Collaborate with Blue Jacket Enterprising Managers to support transitional employees in achieving career goals.
  • Engage with service providers and organizations in the community for information sharing and referrals.
  • Act as an advocate for clients, assisting them in making informed decisions about resources and services.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience of three (3) years in relevant fields.
  • Willingness to work on-site and collaborate in-person with other team members.
  • Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and adapt to change.
  • Strict adherence to non-discrimination principles and the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Commitment to representing oneself professionally in appearance and demeanor.
  • Willingness to learn and stay updated on career development best practices and legal procedures.
