We are seeking an experienced Food Service Director for our Long-Term Care Facility, Blue Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Stoughton, MA. At Bear Mountain, we take pride in the professionalism of our staff, as we are committed to delivering the highest standard of care to both our residents and team members.

Key Responsibilities: As the Food Service Director, you will play a pivotal role in our facility's operation. Your responsibilities will include:

Meal Preparation and Service: Oversee the preparation and service of regular meals and therapeutic diets. Ensure the highest quality of food and service for our residents.

Supply Management: Take charge of ordering supplies and maintaining department equipment in sanitary condition.

Budget Management: Maintain cost records and work within budget guidelines for efficient food service operations.

Inventory Management: Monitor incoming food and supplies, ensuring availability for dining personnel and proper storage in compliance with guidelines.

Dietary Expertise: Utilize your knowledge of dietetic principles, food sanitation, and food service operation to provide exceptional dietary care.

Team Leadership: Directly supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and fostering a positive work environment.

Requirements: To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • CDM (Certified Dietary Manager): A must-have certification.
  • Long-Term Care or Institutional Experience: Previous experience in these settings is preferred.
  • Physical Fitness: Must be physically active with the ability to lift, bend, push, and pull.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • English Proficiency: Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Supervisory Experience: Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of dietetic principles, food sanitation, and food service operation.

Additional Responsibilities: In addition to the key responsibilities outlined above, you will also be responsible for:

  • Food Purchase and Production: Ensure timely service of meals while managing food purchase and production.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, staying up-to-date with requirements.
  • Education: Plan and present in-service education programs for the Dining Department.
  • Care Plan Management: Maintain current Care Plans for residents through Care Plan meetings and updates as needed.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Stay informed about federal and state rules and regulations regarding nursing home dining requirements and enforce them within the Dining Department.
  • Quality Assurance: Actively participate in all quality improvement processes.
