Bloomberg Industry Group is Hiring a Commercial Strategy and Operations Manager Near Arlington, VA

Reporting to the Director of Commercial Strategy & Operations, you will work as an integral part of the Commercial Operations team at the intersection of finance and sales. You will help lead our Deal Desk, pricing strategic and custom deals for the sales team. You will use data and analysis to solve key business problems and help leadership make informed decisions by answering complex questions and turning analysis and insights into measurable action.

What You Will Do:

Transformation:

  • Help to establish overarching vision, strategy, and implementation plans for business process optimization for Commercial Operations and Deal Desk.
  • Support business transformation initiatives and programs aimed at building organizational improvement capabilities throughout the OTC team and across the organization.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Product, Legal, and Finance on strategic projects, focusing on performance of commercial operations and improvement strategies.
  • Work with development team to design and implement system modifications as needed.
  • Support commercial analytic activities encompassing both cadenced reporting and ad-hoc deep dives.

Deals:

  • Manage a team of deal desk specialists and help to establish and maintain the policy and process of a Deal Desk operating model by leveraging data and working with internal customers.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Service, Product Business Units, Legal and Finance to develop pricing and deal strategies, ensuring profitable, renewable growth for the business.
  • Provide support to Sales in proposing, closing, and processing deals, ensuring a sense of urgency and a customer-first mindset, balanced with effective governance.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Bloomberg Industry Group products, policies, and procedures, to assist and provide support to internal and external customers.

Policy:

  • Work closely with sales and finance teams to optimize commercial policies according to company goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with all parts of the business, to facilitate clear and timely communication of key business insights in support of pricing and commercial operations.
  • Analyze and report on package and pricing exceptions and effectiveness in support of long-term revenue goals including developing new pricing models and strategy.
  • Support a continuous improvement mindset, striving for standards that are industry-leading.

You Need to Have:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in an appropriate combination of 1) sales or marketing, including experience in sales strategy, deal review and pricing negotiation, 2) working with Bloomberg Industry Group or similar products and pricing; consulting experience a plus.
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills; deep Excel experience is a must have.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, solve problems effectively, and tenaciously follow through to ensure project success.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of employees and customers throughout the organization.
