We are seeking an Assistant Teacher in our Preschool. There are thirteen children in the preschool group with two teachers. The children are 3-5 years old.

Bloom is a nature inspired program, heavily influenced by the LifeWays approach to childcare. We create a homelike setting in which children can come into their own. We believe social & emotional development and well being is the sturdy branch upon which all learning can truly blossom.

We meet the RIELDS curriculum through our holistic lens. We incorporate baking, gardening, and meaningful work and play into each day. We bring the natural rhythm of the seasons into our songs and stories, and in our baking and cooking projects (think apple pie in the fall and warm root vegetable soup in the winter). Domestic chores and self care tasks are woven into each day together. Children learn to be self sufficient while simultaneously learning to be helpful and generous members of a cohesive group.

Our community at Bloom bustles with like minded families who enjoy our seasonal festivals and magical events throughout the year (such as a Spring gathering with Maypole dancing, a brisk autumn evening walk lit by lanterns made by the children).

We are looking for someone ready to be called home to a long term placement at Bloom. This full-time, year round position includes five weeks a year of paid vacation/personal time (plus paid Holidays, of course), paid educational opportunities, a large contribution toward medical insurance with optional dental, and a 401K with employer match after one year of employment.

We would prefer a candidate who has experience in a group childcare setting, however other experience with children will be considered. Must love the outdoors (year round!). A love of gardening, baking, and handwork (knitting, sewing, crocheting) would make us very happy!
