Staghorn Gardens is an ecologically based gardening company based in North Kingstown. We provide creative and fine gardening services to our clients in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. We are searching for a part-time gardener to work until November providing services such as weeding, planting, deadheading, pruning, mulching and general maintenance of landscape gardens. Staghorn Gardening is BIPOC friendly and encourages all who have a love of the outdoors to apply.
Staghorn Gardening operates during the hours of 8 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
This position is part-time, 3 days a week, but has the potential to grow to full-time.
Duties:
- Plant flowers, trees, and other plants according to design plans
- Maintain garden beds by weeding, mulching and cultivating the soil
-Maintain vegetable gardens with an organic approach
- Operate hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and pruning shears
- Communicate all landscape and client questions or concerns with owner.
-Scouting for pests using integrated pest management
Qualifications
- Comfortable using hand tools for gardening tasks
- Knowledge or eagerness to learn plant identification and proper care requirements
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 45 lbs.
- Ability to kneel, lift, stand, bend, push repeatedly through-out the day.
