Blackwood Associates is seeking a Construction Safety Officer for a leading contractor in the Springfield MA area, specializing in large-scale construction projects.
As a Construction Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of construction sites and personnel. You will be responsible for implementing and enforcing safety protocols, conducting inspections, and providing safety training to employees.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures on construction sites
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address safety hazards
- Provide safety training to employees and contractors
- Investigate accidents and incidents, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence
- Maintain safety records and documentation in compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure safety goals are met
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulations related to construction safety
Requirements:
- 1-5 years of experience in construction site safety
- Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
- Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR) preferred
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards in the construction industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
