SUMMARY: Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for the proper recording of the day to day transactions for the purpose of producing accurate financial statements. Analyze financial data in order to prepare financial reports. Generate and interpret financial records and statements for management. Maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, or other financial activities within the organization. Maintain general ledger as needed.

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for promoting culture of safety
• Prepare journal entries as required by monthly close process by specified due dates
• Reconcile accounts as assigned by specified due dates including but not limited to intercompany for accounts receivable and account payable, inventory, prepaids, accruals and the company corporate credit card
• Preform analytics on accounts as required for monthly variance explanations
• Responding to and analyzing information requests from other departments
• Prepare schedules as required by the interim and annual audit
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned
• Perform all work in accordance to ISO policy and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong technical skills in Accounting; GAAP knowledge required
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Excel), and accounting software
• Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
• Intercompany reconciliations and inventory experience
• Accuracy and attention to detail

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• No direct supervisory responsibility. May perform team lead duties.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• 3 years’ experience working in in a similar position required

REASONING ABILITY: 

• Employee responds to commonly occurring problems/situations for which standards, procedures or precedents exist. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• CPA preferred, not required

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Employee is regularly required to speak and hear English, stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. Employee is required to use computer and other equipment.
• Employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to _25_ pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to clearly focus vision.
