The Head Coach will work directly with the high school athletes, oversee the Junior High program, and establish a working relationship with the youth program.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Directly coaching high school athletes
• Ensuring that the program is in compliance with all IHSAA regulations and guidelines
• Promoting Blackford Boys Basketball at the Junior/Senior High School as well as lower levels
• Communicating clearly with athletes, parents, coaches and administrators
• Cooperating with school staff including administrators, custodians, and teachers
• Working with coaches of other programs to effectively share facilities, equipment, and athletes
• Providing leadership development for student/athletes
• Promoting academic achievement and community service within the program
• Scheduling, organizing, and leading youth camps/clinics to develop consistency within the program
• Maintaining and updating accurate program information including players rosters and team statistics
• Ensuring sportsmanship within the program by players and coaches
• Consistently enforcing player discipline for violations of team rules as well as violations of school rules
• Providing a positive atmosphere for player growth and development of individual skills, teamwork, and personal improvement.

LICENSE: A Valid Indiana Teaching License is preferred but not required.
