Description and Qualifications

The Director of Finance will manage the Finance team and ultimately be responsible for the oversight of timely and accurate distribution of financial and operational reports for all Blackberry Hotel, LLC and High Hampton Inn business units, as well as other lines of business (Foothills Adventure, Blackberry Foundation). This position is responsible for the creation and successful adherence to the company budget for all entities/properties. The Director of Finance will work closely with the VP of Accounting, and other Senior/Concept leadership to ensure company initiatives and processes are in line with the values, mission, and vision of Blackberry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Set annual Operational and CapEx budgets for business units Blackberry Farm, Blackberry Mountain, and High Hampton Inn that meet company objectives for financial performance.
  • Work with Accounting and operational leadership in month-end process to ensure accuracy in GL and timely production of month-end financials.
  • Oversight of compliance and reporting for Blackberry Foundation.
  • Administration for bonus and compensation management
  • Manage financials to set budgets and ensure accuracy and responsible spending by operational teams.
  • Monthly and quarterly written executive financial summaries.
  • Review and manage Retail and Incidental price points with departmental management and assist in keeping systems accurate and updated.
  • Assist VP of Accounting in managing purchase orders as assigned to ensure adherence to company goals and responsible spending.
  • Train and develop management on best financial practices on an ongoing basis. Create and maintain Finance SOP’s as a helpful resource for new and current managers.
  • Review financial performance with all managers regularly to ensure financial success.
  • Identify financial exceptions and help develop action plans alongside Operational VP and General Managers on how to correct.
  • All Manager Meeting financial updates.
  • Develop new static Financial, Sales, or KPI reports as needed.
  • Support President, VP of Accounting, and Senior/Concept with special projects and analysis as needed.

Must comply with all company policies and procedures.

To perform the essential functions of this position, regular and consistent attendance in required.

Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers and interact with our guests.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • B.S. in Accounting, Finance, or Related Field
  • 3 – 5 Years’ Experience in Accounting/Finance leadership role
  • Strong background in hospitality operations
  • Systems:

    • Opera Property Management System
    • Resort Suite
    • Optimum Control
    • Retail Management Software
    • Advanced Excel Skills
    • Intermediate PowerPoint Skills

  • Must be able to communicate with ALL Team Members in a professional and courteous manner. Excellent communication and writing skills and professional appearance is required.

  • Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions that will impact the financial well-being of the company.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • General Office
  • Must be able to sit a computer for long periods of time
  • Must be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time when conducting inventories and other on property tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • General Office

HOURS:

  • Monday – Friday – 8 am – 5pm
  • On occasion, some weekends and/or evenings as required by hotel occupancy or as needed to handle weekend emergencies.
