THE ROLE: 

AMD's Human Resources team is seeking an insightful, adaptable, and technically proficient individual to join our collaborative and close-knit team.  

This critical role requires direct interactions with employees and managers, conducting moderate to complex investigations, and managing performance-related cases. It also includes significant involvement in technical projects that enhance our HR systems and workflows. Your efforts will align with legal, industry, and AMD best practices and play a vital part in supporting our commitment to a diverse and inclusive workplace. THE PERSON: 

We are in search of a dynamic individual who blends deep professional knowledge with a proactive, engaging demeanor. This individual should excel in technical and strategic areas as well as demonstrate the emotional intelligence and communicative skills necessary to thrive in a multifaceted environment. 

  • Emotional Intelligence: Skilled in managing sensitive situations with professionalism, confidentiality, and empathy. Demonstrates a keen understanding of emotional dynamics to effectively resolve conflicts. 

  • Analytical and Meticulous: Capable of conducting precise investigations and translating complex data into clear, actionable insights. 

  • Strategically and Technically Savvy: Brings a robust mix of strategic policy development and advanced technical skills. Leads initiatives in optimizing HR systems like ServiceNow, enhancing operational efficiency, and aligning with broader organizational goals. 

  • Initiative-taking Communicator: Proactively maintains open and effective communication, keeping all stakeholders well-informed and ensuring clarity in all interactions. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Conduct detailed investigations into a range of employee relations concerns such as harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and workplace violence, adhering to all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. 

  • Manage performance-based casework, aligning closely with our Performance Management process. 

  • Provide clear, timely communication regarding investigations, offering comprehensive reports with supporting documentation. 

  • Employ effective interviewing and documentation techniques; adeptly manage cases using designated online case management tools like ServiceNow. 

  • Collaborate with the Legal team to ensure thorough investigations and prompt, effective resolutions. 

  • Develop, update, and ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures, conducting training sessions, as necessary. 

  • Analyze trends in employee relations with leadership to devise initiative-taking strategies, solutions, programs, and policies. 

  • Build and maintain robust relationships with internal stakeholders to promote positive employee relations and high engagement levels. 

  • Lead and contribute to projects, particularly those that involve enhancing HR system functionalities and user experience, in partnership with Talent Acquisition Operations. 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Background in employee relations, investigations, employment law, and disciplinary actions. 

  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local laws that govern employment policies and practices. 

  • Established expertise in conflict resolution and internal client support, complemented by leadership in technical projects across distributed teams. 

  • Additional experience in Business Transformation projects or extensive work with ServiceNow is highly desirable. 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred, but not required.

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position. You may be eligible for incentives based upon your role such as either an annual bonus or sales incentive.
