What will your day look like?

As a Business Intelligence Analyst Intern, you will be responsible for presenting vast amounts of data in an easy to digest and clear way that facilitates spotting patterns, correlations, and trends. The goal is to convert data into information and manifest it in enlightening, understandable ways to fuel decision-making. To be successful in this role, you can create a link between technical teams and business users and translate business requirements into visual design following data and design principles. You will need to understand how to create and manipulate large data sets and use various visualization tools, both interactive (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Domo) and static (e.g., PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator a plus) to create reports, dashboards and infographics that will be utilized on a recurring or ad hoc basis. In the end, you should be able to analyze the results and present them to the client.

More specifically, your tasks will include:

• Meeting with client stakeholders and technical leaders to identify and document business requirements.
• Identifying effective reporting and data visualization techniques; data sources; risks and constraints and design mock-ups.
• Implementing business intelligence requirements using SQL, ETL, business intelligence and analytics tools, and database programming.
• Designing and developing presentation layers - reports, dashboards, infographics, stories.
• Documenting report/dashboard specifications as required.
• Analyzing report requirements and designing the appropriate solutions to meet the business requirements.
• Providing data-driven recommendations.
• Effectively aggregate and communicate conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually.
• Working closely with advanced analytics team and provide support especially from data sourcing perspective.

To excel in this role, you'll need strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey analysis findings effectively and influence the overall strategies. Strong collaboration skills are a must, as you will work closely with our data science and engineering teams to meet our business's data needs and translating business needs into analytical requirements. Operating smoothly in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment should come naturally to you.

Additionally, you ideally have:

• Interest and/or experience in a business analyst or data analyst role.
• Preferably experience in the marketing, digital advertising industry or related field - course work is acceptable.
• Working knowledge of SQL.
• Experience engaging with the business and leadership on problem definition.
• Recent proven experience developing data visualizations, dashboards using BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Domo) or static tools (PPT, Adobe Illustrator a plus).
• Familiarity with database modeling and data warehousing principles is a plus.
• Experience with ETL process and tools (Alteryx, Google Data Prep, Informatica or Talend) a plus.
