The Information Technology Director is expected to set clear team goals and expectations and has a proactive approach to ensure consistent and seamless team operations and constructive collaboration.
Previous experience in managing municipal information systems and public safety operating systems is highly desirable.
Under the responsibility of the Finance Director, the Information Technology Department is responsible for strategy, design, transition, operation and improvement of services related to technology and its use within the City. All City Directors are required to live within the Cedar Rapids within a reasonable time frame after appointment. This will be discussed at the offer stage.
Successful completion of a pre-employment background check, physical examination (if applicable) and drug screen are required prior to employment with the City of Cedar Rapids.
