Black Owl Recruiting is Hiring a Patent Agent (Electrical Engineering) Near Dallas, TX

Black Owl Recruiting is seeking a patent agent with at least two years of patent prosecution experience for a high profile law firm client in Dallas Texas. The candidate will have patent prosecution experience in 5G, Wi-Fi and other wireless technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), processor and memory systems, image processing and RF front-end. In addition, the candidate should have excellent academic credentials in addition to strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.

The ideal candidate would also have an Electrical Engineering degree (or an equivalent) and must be registered with the United States Patent Trademark Office ("USPTO") or qualified to register for the USPTO. This position may be located in any of our US offices, and remote opportunities may be considered for qualified candidates. Please indicate your office(s) of interest in your application. Must be admitted to and in good standing of the Bar, or be eligible to waive in.

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The full time base annual salary for this position in the New York City, Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco market is expected to range between $160,000- $300,000. This range represents the firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting for a position in New York City, Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Salaries in other markets will vary depending on market data. Bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.

Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw to support patent prosecution and litigation efforts.
- Draft and review legal documents related to patent law, particularly in the field of Electrical Engineering.
- Utilize strong writing skills to prepare legal briefs, opinions, and correspondence.
- Negotiate patent agreements and settlements with external parties, leveraging premium negotiation skills.
- Analyze patent claims and prior art in the context of emerging technologies like 5G.
- Provide legal counsel on intellectual property matters, including patent portfolio management and enforcement.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with patent laws and regulations.
- Utilize communication skills to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and external legal counsel.
- Leverage legal administrative experience to streamline patent-related processes and procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $225,000.00 - $315,000.00 per year
