BizTek People, Inc. | APA International Placement Consultants is Hiring a Controls and Electrical Automation Specialist II Near Omaha, NE

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

·Provide advanced programming efforts relative tonatural gas driven reciprocal, turbine and electrical compressor systems.

·Interface with Company engineering andconstruction, field operations, other technical services departments andthird-party vendors/contractors to ensure safe and efficient operation of saidequipment. (40-50%)

·Provide advanced programming efforts relative tonatural gas compressor station auxiliary systems and interface with Companyengineering and construction, field operations, other technical servicesdepartments and third party vendors/contractors to ensure safe and efficientoperation of said equipment. (15-25%)

·Develop software simulation applications for newapplications to ensure programs can be tested and to allow testing of existingcontroller programs for the change control review process. (15-20%)

·Provide input to engineering and construction,field operations, technical services and planning groups to assure the design,installation and operation of control systems meet Company, governmental andindustry codes and standards. (10-15%)

·Interface with the controls system IT securityteam to ensure control system hardware and software solutions adhere to Companycyber security Policies and Guidelines. (5-10%)

·Review programming changes for programmablelogic controllers and human machine interfaces relative to the change controlprocess and assist in the development of scopes of work and implementationplans relative to the change requests. (5-10%)

·Work on process improvement initiatives toenhance efficiencies of control system operation. (5-10%)

·Perform site visits to develop project scopedocuments to be used for project budgeting and engineering purposes. (3-5%)

·Perform any additional responsibilities asrequested or assigned. (0-5%)

·Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge ofengineering aspects of Company’s control systems; evaluate, select and applystandard programming techniques, criteria and procedures; and use judgment inmaking adaptations and modifications.

·Recognize, investigate and solve problemsrelating to Company’s automation control systems.

·Participate in a lead role on project teamsresulting in contribution to achievement of project goals and objectives.

·Perform responsibilities as directed withindetermined time frames and with a high degree of accuracy, and complete projectassignments to meet customer needs, schedule constraints and reliabilityobjectives.

·Establish and maintain effective workrelationships with internal and external contacts.

·Maintain the professional competence, knowledgeand skills necessary to effectively complete responsibilities by takingpersonal responsibility for determining and scheduling professional developmentand training classes within budgetary constraints.

·Maintain sensitive and confidential informationregarding company information.

·Attend work on a regular basis and support theCompany’s employee policies and procedures, including workplace safety rules.

·Ensure all compliance aspects of position areknown and followed; understand and comply with all policies, codes andregulations applicable to position and company.

 

Requirements

Position Requirements

·Bachelor’s degree in engineering, automation orrelated technical field; or equivalent work experience.

·(Typically six years of related, progressivework experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position whodo not possess a bachelor’s degree).

·Five years of experience with automation ofrotating equipment or heavy industrial equipment preferred.

·Knowledge of multiple PLC software and hardwareplatforms including: Rockwell, ContlLogix and Rockwell FactoryTalk

·Technical skills related to computer and controlsystem networks including Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, local area networksand human machine interface distributed systems.

·Engineering knowledge of natural gas industrystandards and codes preferred.

·Must be able to handle shifting priorities andmultiple projects concurrently.

·Must be able to work in a functional team withpeers geographically dispersed across Northern.

·Must be able to make positive contributions in ateam-oriented environment with a willingness to support team objectives.

·Must possess excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills.

·Must possess a high level of commitment andpersonal initiative.

·Critical thinking and decision-making skills todevelop and present technical recommendations and resolutions of complexproblems in stressful situations.

·Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
