Position Summary:The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing of construction projects for the organization. The Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the organization by optimizing cash flow through timely billing of invoices and collection of outstanding receivables.

Job Duties & Requirements:

• Work closely with project estimators and customers to initiate accurate billing on a timely basis.
• Troubleshoot and resolve billing challenges as they occur.
• Collect, record, and monitor cash receipts.
• Ensures billing activities are recorded to the correct accounts and are recognized properly in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Continuously assess and enhance accounts receivable processes and workflows by implementing improvements where necessary.
• Monitor and manage the aging of accounts receivable and work with various team members regarding collection efforts.
• Facilitate and maintain productive inter-departmental relationships through collaborative communication.
• Assist with tasks related to the billing and payment of various subcontractors.

Preferred Experience/Education:

• Proven experience in Accounts Receivable or similar role.
• Post-secondary education is preferred
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
• Willingness to learn and explore new processes to add efficiency to Accounts Receivable.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office Suite
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Positive attitude and professional behavior
• Highly functional in fast-paced environment
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Construction background is a plus
