Bishop O'Connell High School is in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic professional to serve as an Assistant Coach to the schools Co-ed Cheerleading Program. Prior experience in Cheerleading is required and experience with coaching and/or college cheer is preferred. The program's season includes Fall and Winter and the team also attends UCA camp in the summer.Bishop O'Connell is a member of the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) and is preparing to participate in competitions for the 2024-2025 season. The Assistant Coach will serve as an aid in preparing and leading the team members to developing skills needed to reach their highest potential as student athletes. Availability during the pre-season to assist in planning and training is required.

• Assist in preparing and organizing necessary arrangements for a successful season
• Lead and manage team practices as well as games
• Assisting with choreography and preparing teams for competitions and performances
• Ensure a healthy environment that nurtures the safety and wellbeing of the student athletes by utilizing and reinforcing best safety practices
• Maintains communication of teams expectations and commitments with athletes and their families

• Experience in stunting, tumbling, and dance
• Experience in coaching middle or high school aged students
• Knowledge or prior experience in competition teams
• Dedication to the teams schedule and commitments throughout the dual-seasons
• Passion for developing strong relationships with student-athletes, colleagues, parent/guardians, and others members of the school community
• Strong work ethic, leadership, and communication skills

Job Type: Seasonal

Pay: $19.28 - $23.22 per hour

Expected hours: 6 – 12 per week
