Job Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Operate CNC Burn Table: Set up and operate computer numerical control (CNC) burn table equipment to cut various shapes and sizes from metal sheets according to engineering drawings and specifications.

2. Material Handling: Load and unload metal sheets onto the burn table using hoists, cranes, or forklifts. Ensure that materials are securely positioned and properly aligned for cutting.

3. Programming and Setup: Program the burn table machine based on job specifications, including selecting appropriate cutting parameters, tooling, and cutting paths. Perform machine setup and calibration as needed.

4. Quality Control: Monitor the cutting process to ensure accuracy, precision, and quality of finished parts. Inspect cut pieces for defects, dimensions, and surface finish, and make adjustments as necessary.

5. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance tasks on the burn table equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and make necessary repairs to minimize downtime.

6. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout/tagout procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents and injuries.

7. Documentation: Record production data, including job specifications, material usage, and production quantities. Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and legibly.

Desired Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating CNC burn table equipment in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, blueprints, and job specifications.
• Knowledge of CNC programming and G-code programming language.
• Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform basic calculations related to cutting dimensions, speeds, and feeds.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Forklift or overhead crane certification (preferred).
• Knowledge of plasma cutting processes (preferred).
