New York State, Capital Region based, client oriented, commercial contractor and construction manager is looking for a self-motivated, detailed, and experienced Assistant Project Manager to work with our management team. The successful candidate must have knowledge of General Construction and Construction Management Project delivery methods. Strong estimating and scheduling skills are preferred.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- At Least 3-5 years experience in general construction or construction management
- Commercial construction experience on projects ranging from at least $250,000 - $5,000,000
- Strong math and technical writing skills.
- Strong communication and verbal skills
- Strong negotiating skills
- Strong organizational and prioritizing skills for work on multiple projects at once
- Strong financial skills and awareness to maintain budgets
- Experience with estimating, scheduling, and project management programs
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Ability to work in person at office location and jobsites
- College degree preferred but not required if experience is adequate
Job Description:
Assistant Project Manager will be responsible to lead estimating, planning, scheduling, and finances on all aspects of smaller projects and/or assist in these tasks to a Project Manager on larger projects. The position requires collaboration with subcontractors, suppliers, design teams, clients, and team members to properly plan and execute project activities to ensure delivery of a successful project to our clients. Effective collaboration with Project Superintendents is essential to the role. Travel throughout the Capital Region is to be expected. Travel throughout New York State will sometimes be required and is based on a project-by-project basis.
