Inventory Clerk

Reports to: Shipping Manager

Summary

The Inventory Clerk is responsible for a variety of tasks including (but not limited to) receiving raw material, staging the material for production, and cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory. The ideal candidate, after training is complete, will be able to inspect product for order accuracy and quality, work with departments to assist in achieving set production goals, and maintain a workplace that is clean and free from safety hazards. This position will involve detailed record keeping, analyzing data/information, having the ability to work independently or in a team environment, critical thinking, and using good judgment in decision-making. Candidate must possess the ability to read and understand information/ideas presented in written form.

Essential Functions/Duties

  1.  Observe, follow, and maintain a safe working environment.
  2. Receive raw material including tasks involving inspections, verifying packing list, unloading and sorting, and allocating to its appropriate locations.
  3. Stage material for production by employing the use of Work Orders to identify area needs and ensuring the appropriate material is in at the workstation where/when it is needed.
  4. Regular cycle counting to verify stock/inventory levels. Communicate discrepancies to the supervisor if necessary.
  5. Perform safety checks to ensure safety devices are on and in working order (guarding and all safety equipment).
  6. Perform quality checks and document (where applicable), using simple gages, precision measuring devices and visual inspection.
  7. Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

  5. Ability to prioritize and work with accuracy under stress.
  6. Proficiency in the use of a PC/Laptop including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other position relevant software applications.
  7. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical/Cognitive Demands

This is largely a physically active role including walking long distances (over uneven surfaces) to/within out production facility, liftin 50lbs or more, and standing for long periods. Position also requires bending, stooping, squatting, or standing as necessary. Cognitive abilities required include deductive reasoning, information ordering, oral comprehension, oral expression, problem sensitivity, written comprehension, and written expression.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. The hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent
  2. 1 year of experience in a similar position.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. P21 experience is a plus.
  2. Bilingual English/Spanish language skills is a plus.
