Biocoat Inc. is Hiring a Process Engineer I - Medical Device Coatings Near Horsham, PA


Annual Compensation Range: $70,000-$90,000
Biocoat is committed to providing the best in developing, manufacturing, and applying coatings on medical devices. We are looking for a Process Engineer who is willing to support the company including developing, configuring, and optimizing the medical coating manufacturing processes. This job requires associates to ensure the quality and efficiency of the product while making recommendations to meet Good Manufacturing Process Standards. What will I be doing as a Process Engineer I?
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Develop new process technologies to improve productivity, product quality, and support new product development
  • Assist with equipment to resolve problems, troubleshooting, and fixtures
  • Specify and source manufacturing and analytical equipment, documenting new equipment through the IQ/OQ/PQ processes
  • Design transfer from development to production
  • Assist licensees & prospects in setting up their own coating facilities with technology transfer conceptual design, equipment specs, suppliers, training, validation, etc.
  • Interface with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs and follow all applicable regulatory and quality requirements
  • Ensure adherence and prepare all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, auditors, and agencies
  • Design experiments for testing production equipment limits and capabilities mostly regarding process improvements and qualification/validation activities. 
  • Assist in the management of equipment calibration and preventive maintenance
Do I qualify?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Medical Device Engineering
  • 2 years chemical, industrial or manufacturing engineering experience preferred
  • Experienced with polymerization reactors and automated systems process equipment
  • Ability to operate in a clean room and laboratory environment
  • Proven experience in abiding by safety requirements and ability to operate and enforce all safety guidelines
  • Plan and schedule work duties; take initiative, excellent eye for detail
  • Excellent technical writing as well as verbal skills
  • Experience with automation and process controls is a plus
  • Background in the medical device industry is a plus
