Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)

Salary: $54,000 - $57,000

Campus Recreational Services (CRS) offers a multi-faceted program that is designed to encourage positive lifestyle choices and promote lifelong learning through both wellness and physical activity. The department manages the Recreation Center at the East Gym and operates six core program areas: Fitness, Open Recreation, Intramural Sports, Club Sports, Outdoor Pursuits and Wellness Services. Through these programs the department serves approximately 80% of undergraduate students, as well as graduate students, faculty & staff, alumni, University affiliates and community members. Beginning in spring 2024, we are breaking ground on a 75,000 sq. ft. expansion of our facility which is scheduled to be open in 2025. Expansion plans include increased fitness space, three additional multi use courts, an elevated track and space for a climbing wall.

CRS is looking for an enthusiastic team player to assist in the leadership and administration of all technological aspects of the department. Reporting to the Director, the successful candidate has the opportunity to function independently and complete tasks with limited supervision, manage ambiguity, and work within collaborative decision-making structures as needed. The ideal candidate will have a background in managing IT services for a professional organization and demonstrate high levels of adaptability and ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in ensuring departmental compliance with all University rules, regulations, polices and guidelines in the area of Information Technology, especially in the areas of PCI compliance, virus/malware protection, and date security, privacy and integrity.
  • Serve as the CRS point person for all University and departmental software (Fusion, SubItUp, B-Engaged, IMLeagues, FormSite, Google Suite, Omni CMS, SAS, etc.), maintaining functionality, running reports and ensuring staff is adequately trained.
  • Configure all departmental computers, tablets and other hardware, working with vendors and ITS to test and implement software updates.
  • Maintain efficient, effective, and secure POS workstations and work with vendors, purchasing and ITS to maintain PCI compliance.
  • Work with CRS staff members to evaluate hardware/software needs, coordinating with ITS as needed.
  • Maintain departmental inventory of all computers and related equipment. Implement a replacement schedule for the hardware with attention given to standardizing equipment and proactive replacement.
  • Serve as the point person for data collection, reporting and assessment efforts.
  • Maintain oversight of shared resources.
  • Serve as the designated CRS liaison with ITS.
Job Requirements:

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
  • At least 2 years of professional experience working predominately in an IT capacity
  • Demonstrated capacity for reporting and data analysis
  • Knowledge of computer software systems; installation and applications
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
  • Experience working in an educational setting
