Binghamton University is Hiring a Residential coordinator Near Binghamton, NY

Job Description :

Budget Title : Staff Assistant (SL-2)

Salary : $48,000 - $53,000

Co-curricular recreation is booming at Binghamton University. Between increased enrollment and the University's demonstrated commitment to facility enhancements, the inaugural Residential Co-Recreation Coordinator has a unique opportunity to positively impact the residential experience for Bearcats for years to come.

The incumbent, and their team of student leaders, will shape current and new campus traditions while maximizing resources to implement a variety of recreational and competitive activities.

Building on the growing culture of residence hall-specific 'co-recreational' (intramural) sports leagues, this position will focus on diversifying current recreation offerings, increasing student participation in leagues and events, while offering lower impact one-day recreational special events and activities.

Currently, the most popular co-rec sports include flag football and an indoor field-day event. This is a unique opportunity to establish a long-lasting legacy for the co-curricular students of Binghamton University.

Residential Life at Binghamton University has a collegiate model structure meaning each of the residential areas are grouped into smaller "colleges.

The ideal candidate will have a firm hold on traditional recreation sports, while thinking outside the box in collaboration with our student community to build a calendar of events attractive to today's population.

The successful candidate will have a passion for, and experience in, student development with a demonstrated understanding of student development theories.

This position requires a flexible individual who understands the demands of the position will include attending area government meetings which occur during evenings and nights, and an ability to commit to being on-campus to facilitate and supervise weekend activities when necessary.
