Contract Duration – 13 weeks Contract.

Position – Travel Registered Nurse Med-surg /Tele

Schedule: Days 7am to 7pm

Facility location - 211 FOURTH STREET, ALEXANDRIA, LA 71301

What You Will Do:
Job Specific Responsibilities:

• Patient Assessment: Conducting thorough assessments of patients upon admission and throughout their hospitalization. RNs assess patients' vital signs, physical condition, medical history, and symptoms to identify health issues and develop individualized care plans.
• Medication Administration: Administering medications as prescribed by physicians and monitoring patients for adverse reactions or side effects. RNs ensure accurate dosage, route, and timing of medication administration, and they educate patients about their medications and potential risks.
• Treatment Planning and Implementation: Collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans based on patients' medical diagnoses and treatment goals. RNs perform nursing interventions, wound care, and other treatments to promote healing and manage symptoms.
• Telemetry Monitoring: Monitoring patients' cardiac rhythm and vital signs using telemetry equipment. RNs interpret telemetry data, recognize abnormal rhythms or changes in patient status, and intervene promptly to address cardiac arrhythmias or other cardiac events.
• Patient Education: Providing education to patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies. RNs teach patients about lifestyle modifications, dietary restrictions, activity limitations, and signs of complications to promote recovery and prevent readmission.
• Wound Care Management: Performing wound assessments, dressing changes, and wound care procedures for patients with surgical incisions, pressure ulcers, or other skin lesions. RNs ensure proper wound healing, infection prevention, and patient comfort.
• Collaboration with Interdisciplinary Team: Working closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. RNs participate in rounds, case conferences, and interdisciplinary meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment plans.
• Patient Advocacy: Advocating for patients' rights, preferences, and needs within the healthcare system. RNs ensure that patients receive appropriate care, respect, and support while in the hospital, and they communicate patients' concerns or wishes to the healthcare team.
• Documentation and Charting: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes. RNs document vital signs, medication administration, procedures, and other relevant information in electronic health records (EHRs) or paper charts.
