The Tool Room Attendant position is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other items from the tool room. This position is also responsible for keeping records, tracking inventory, and coordinating with the maintenance team when additional supplies need to be purchased.

• Follow safety and work procedures.
• Receive and count items, and record data manually or using computer.
• Pack and unpack items to be stocked in the tool room.
• Verify inventory by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
• Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
• Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
• Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
• Keep records on the use or damage of stock or stock-handling equipment.
• Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
• Provide assistance or direction to other workers.
• Dispose of damaged or defective items, or return them to vendors.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma Preferred
• Attention to detail.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to learn procedures and policies.
• Must be dependable and show ability to take direction.
• Able to work flexible schedules and long hours.
• Perform essential functions of job that includes walking, standing, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
