The Painter Helper performs general carpentry, plumbing and building maintenance. Follows all safety procedures as set forth by the Company.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Arrive at work at or before scheduled start time to properly review duties for the day.
  • Ability to mix and apply paint and epoxy coatings.
  • Ability to patch holes in walls, floors and roof
  • Ability to mix cement for patch work
  • Ability to prepare surfaces for painting
  • Performs quality checks, tailings and other reports as required by SQF/sanitation.
  • Practice and comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and other work rules; includes compliance with all regulatory mandates, such as lockout/tagout, electrical safety, confined spaces etc.
  • Back up in the warehouse/receiving, as vacation relief, would include some computer work, will include heights, i.e. climbing silos etc.
  • Conduct tailings and magnet checks.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Key Behavioral Competencies:

  • Must have basic math and communication skills and knowledge to accomplish required paperwork and to read work instructions, safety policies and warning signs etc.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
  • 1-3 Years of building maintenance experience in Industrial environment preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work around various chemicals and equipment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, stack/unstack or carry, stand and/or stoop for prolonged periods of time (except for break and lunch periods), climb, perform repetitive motions, and work in a dusty, loud and hot environment.
  • You must have good written and oral English language communication skills.
  • You must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must have ability to routinely and frequently stoop, bend, reach, climb ladder/scaffolds, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds; often required to work in tight, cramped spaces.
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination and possess motor skills enabling mobility and quick reflexes, as well as dexterity in ceiling height areas.
  • Ability to work 8 hour shifts, irregular and/or rotating shifts, including split days off (non-consecutive days off) and work nights, holidays and weekends (frequently required).
