Biltmore Farms is Hiring a Food & Beverage Manager - DoubleTree by Hilton Asheville - Biltmore Near Asheville, NC

  • The DoubleTree by Hilton-Asheville Biltmore location, where this position is based, is expected to permanently close in summer 2025 for a future redevelopment project.
  • This position is time-limited due to the expected closure of this hotel property.
  • Transfers to one of three other Biltmore Farms hotels may be available to hired associates in advance of the planned closure, but are not guaranteed.

This is a unique opportunity to join the Biltmore Farms' Hospitality Division in a key operations management role. Job Summary:

Responsible to efficiently and effectively maintain service levels in the hotel breakfast area, retail, in-room dining, and banquet areas, from proper dining and meeting room setup to the execution of food service and events. Collaborate with chefs and hotel management team to ensure a smooth and successful Food & Beverage operation. Supports and guides all Food & Beverage team members in providing outstanding dining, meeting, and banquet experiences to guests and clients of the hotel. Able to utilize and maintain DoubleTree by Hilton standards in every function performed.

Essential Elements:

  • Manage operational facets of banquet events including proper staffing and execution of DoubleTree by Hilton hotels service standards.
  • Coordinate with Food & Beverage and Sales teams to ensure banquet areas are set correctly and on time according to occupancy needs or as dictated by Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Attend and participate in hotel management team meeting weekly, including BEO meetings, offering support and recommendations.
  • Schedule the staff based on occupancy levels and needs dictated by the BEOs and in accordance with the set staffing guides.
  • Maintain all dining and function rooms with regards to cleanliness, upkeep, and maintenance.
  • Responsible for management of hotel Food & Beverage team members, including but not limited to job skills training, scheduling, coaching, and counseling.
  • Ensure banquet staff is properly trained in food service, safe food handling as outlined by the state Health Department and Hilton Hotels, and proper service of alcoholic beverages.
  • Closely monitor various aspects of banquet operation costs, including but not limited to: payroll, daily labor reports, and overtime.

Minimum Qualifications:

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to:

  • Associate's degree in Hospitality and Tourism, or other applicable field of study;
  • AND at least two (2) years of experience in a restaurant or banquet environment and supervisory experience.
  • Prior hotel experience strongly preferred.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to effectively demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Knowledge of a hotel structure and how all departments work together, particularly the Food & Beverage and Sales & Catering Departments.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both oral and written, in a friendly and positive manner in order to meet client needs and resolve issues.
  • Ability to move throughout the hotel to direct set-up operations.
  • Ability to handle multiple customer and operational demands with a high degree of professionalism, often operating with time sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to listen, speak and write to ascertain and respond to client and guest needs. Act as liaison between the client and various hotel departments.
  • Must have knowledge of Food & Beverage etiquette, audio/visual equipment, guest relations and service standards.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with a variety of audio/visual equipment including microphones, computers (Mac, PC, and tablets), volume mixers, projectors, and lighting.
  • Ability to motivate a team of individuals to perform duties and serve the guests, clients, and hotel employees in a professional and courteous manner.

Physical Requirements:

Able to lift and carry at least 35 lbs. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and be able to walk, stoop and bend frequently.

Grooming:

All team members must maintain and keep a professional, appropriate, and well-groomed appearance.

Other:

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
