Description
As a Portfolio Accountant, you will be responsible for the accurate processing of payables and receivables, while supporting various accounting functions for our MultiFamily portfolio. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring financial accuracy, efficiency, and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Major Accountabilities:
  • Timely and Accurate Payment Processing: Ensure prompt and accurate payment of invoices while verifying the precision of all accounting-related documents.
  • Vendor Management: Facilitate vendor approval and setup processes, ensuring smooth interactions and coordination.
  • Insurance Tracking: Monitor and manage insurance-related processes within the portfolio.
  • Accounts Receivable: Oversee accounts receivable activities to maintain financial health and accuracy.
  • Assistance in Accounting Procedures: Support monthly accruals, reclassifications, inter-company processes, and bank reconciliations.
  • Audit Support: Assist in the annual audit process, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial documentation.
  • Review Move Out Statements: Participate in the review process of move-out statements for our Multi-Family portfolio.
  • General Accounting and Special Projects: Engage in general accounting tasks and contribute to special projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college-level accounting preferred.
  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience in General Accounting functions.
  • Preference for candidates with a Multi-Family background.
  • Proficient in utilizing 10-key function for accurate data entry.
  • Strong Excel skills are necessary.
  • Experience with Yardi-Payscan is preferred.
  • Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented.
  • Capable of handling large volumes of work with speed and accuracy.
  • Possess a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and address priorities efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Background in accounting or finance
