We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Refugee Health Promotion Caseworker.

Bilingual Education Institute is looking for a dynamic, organized, and flexible caseworker for our health education program. The candidate should provide an updated RESUME with clearly described education and experience.

Objective

Identify and register refugees and other eligible immigrant populations for the Refugee Health Promotion (RHP) program. Maintain casefiles and provide support to clients throughout their enrollment in the program. Work with RHP team members to achieve the objectives and targets of the RHP Health Education Programs (HEPs).

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or foreign equivalent; some college is preferred. The candidate must have good customer service skills, high attention to detail, proficiency with typical computer programs, and familiarity with working in a multicultural environment.

Language Requirements: Fluent in English bilingual in a refugee language.

Responsibilities

• Meet prospective clients to verify eligibility and conduct intake for the RHP program.
• Create casefiles for each enrolled client, ensuring all necessary eligibility documentation is properly stored.
• Complete all required documentation for each enrollment, including intake documents, service plans, and other forms.
• Compile and regularly update case notes to provide documentation of all services provided.
• Place students in appropriate classes/workshops, taking steps to eliminate all barriers to successful attendance. Refer clients to the RHP Wellness Program if appropriate.
• Conduct outreach to identify and enroll clients in the RHP program through methods such as attending community events, conducting home visits, and distributing flyers
• Provide interpretation for Health Education sessions.
• Provide support to clients as they enroll in and attend classes. Follow up with any absences and work to help clients overcome obstacles to success.
• Update and close all student files in classes upon class ending plus ensure all proper documents are filed appropriately for each student.
• Any/all additional duties, as assigned.
