The Role

Primary responsibility is to oversee and direct the day-to-day field construction activities for multiple job site operations. Responsibilities include directing and supervising one or more superintendents, subcontractors, ensuring processes are adhered to and providing safety and quality control checks.


Qualifications:

  • 10 years supervisory experience in the construction industry with a commercial and/or industrial general contractor

  • Experience in supervising multiple subcontractors, superintendents, and foremen on multiple construction and repair projects

  • The Occupational and Safety Health Administration (OSHA) Safety Course Certification, Red Cross First Aid; and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification

  • Army Corp of Engineers Construction Quality Management for Contractors Certification

  • Must demonstrate a strong ability to:

    • Adapt and be flexible to frequent changes in a fast-paced work environment

    • Demonstrate integrity consistent with Centennial’s core values

    • Collaborate and work effectively in a team environment with people of various backgrounds and styles

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, to include clear, concise, and professional presentation of information

    • Adapt to the constantly evolving world of technology, design, means and methods, systems may include but not limited to: Microsoft Office suite, ProCore, Adobe, and BlueBeam

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related fields highly desired

Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Supervise and direct the activities of one or more superintendents; Visit all jobs on regular basis to observe and assess the productivity, quality, safety, scheduling procedures and report to the Project Management team as needed; Monitor Project Superintendent activities to ensure strict adherence to contract documents and company requirements; Monitor all job site operations for compliance with contract requirements for noise and dust control, non-interruption of Owner activities, and utility shutdown procedures; Maintain communications with Project Manager to ensure proper coordination of the project among the on-site office, job site operations and subcontractors/suppliers for the project; Participate in Pre-Construction activities as needed; Participate in Owner meetings.

  • Subcontractor Management: Fill in for a superintendent as needed. As superintendent, supervise, coordinate, and schedule subcontractors and job site operations; Together with the Project Manager and Project Superintendent, prepare agenda and hold job progress meetings with
    subcontractors to coordinate project progress with minutes distributed to all parties.


  • Scheduling:
    Oversee the scheduling of each project.


  • Safety:
    Ensure compliance with Centennial’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) guidelines and procedures along with all local requirements (OSHA, USACE EM385.1.1, etc.). Review HSEQ binders and high-risk plans for other superintendents.

  • Responsible for driving between project sites that are often miles apart or miles from the assigned office location.

  • Occasional travel may be required.

  • Performance of the required job duties will be in an office environment and project sites that are under construction which may include various weather conditions

  • The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

    • The ability to walk terrain and surfaces that may be far, uneven, or temporary

    • The ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk and hear

    • The ability to frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel

    • The ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, squat, or reach

    • The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
