Big Horn Tire, Inc. is Hiring a Tire Technician Near Dickinson, ND

Job Summary

Position is responsible for performing skilled and specialized automotive mechanic work in the repair, maintenance, and replacement of giant tires, support vehicles, trucks, trailers, and other motorized equipment. Mounts/dismounts tires, ensures conformance to industry standards, examines and repairs tires, and performs preventative maintenance.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Properly dismount and remount tires and wheels securely on vehicle
  • Properly dismount and remount tires onto wheels without damaging either
  • Operate all related equipment and tools as trained
  • Operate independently and as a team member
  • Perform and demonstrate Customer Service Satisfaction
  • Prepares tires for installation; mounts and dismounts tires on rims and vehicles; and fills tires to the proper air pressure.
  • Inspects and tests tires to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Examines and probes damaged, defective, or flat tires to determine the extent of damage and the feasibility of repair; and recommends the disposal of non-repairable tires.
  • Repairs tube and tubeless tires by puncturing blisters, applying patches, replacing treads, removing nails, changing tubes, installing boots, etc.
  • Aligns and balances wheels and tire assemblies to minimize wear on tires; and rotates wheels at prescribed mileage intervals.
  • Operates and maintains diagnostic equipment, hand/power tools, tire changing machines, balancing equipment, and other specialized automotive tools and machinery.
  • Maintain assigned truck and tools.

Job Requirements:

  • Lift a minimum of seventy-five (75) pounds
  • Perform repeated and repetitive movement consistent within the tire industry
  • Must be able to bend at the knees, and flexible enough to work in awkward positions
  • Must be able to stand and work on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able tolerate fluctuations in temperature and humidity.

Safety Requirements:

  • Perform all work in a manner consistent with the Employee Safety Manual.
  • Learn and maintain all lifting procedures.
  • Learn and maintain all general housekeeping and ensure daily performance.
  • Report all accidents and incidents immediately upon them taking place to your direct supervisor.

Expectations:

  • Expand your knowledge of other jobs, cross training.
  • Follow all Big Horn Tire procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and wear clean uniforms/clothing.
