Big Fin Poke is Hiring a Front of House Team Member Near Melrose, MA

We are looking for dynamic Team Members for Big Fin Poke in downtown Melrose, MA. Big Fin Poke is a steadily growing, family-owned and operated chain aiming to become a global brand. Big Fin Poke offers Hawaiian style poke bowls and an exceptional experience that is quick, healthy, affordable, and most importantly delicious. We are looking to add smiling faces that like to have fun while they keep a clean restaurant and work hard to take care of our customers quickly - is that you?

Our restaurant is set up in an assembly line style; you must learn to work quickly with your team members to handle the flow of in-house customers and delivery orders. We have a lot of food prep that occurs in the morning and afternoon but no grills or fryers to clean and we listen to great music! We offer a meal discount plus opportunity for advancement. Responsibilities

  • Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs.
  • Be able to communicate the mission, values, beliefs, and ideals of Big Fin Poke.
  • Ensure that all customers feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared according to Big Fin Poke’s recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards.
  • Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, the appearance of facility, sanitation, and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment.
  • Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with Big Fin Poke policies and procedures.
  • Possess excellent basic math skills and the ability to operate the POS system.
  • Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, orders, and reports in an organized and timely manner.
  • Placing orders (if needed) for produce, food, and all other supplies and/or operations necessary for the everyday running of the store.
  • Ensure that all products are received in correct unit count and condition and deliveries are performed in accordance with receiving policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the preventative maintenance programs.
  • Be knowledgeable of store policies regarding personnel and communicate to the Managers all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.
  • Fill in where needed to ensure customer service standards and efficient operations.
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, and guests.
  • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the restaurant’s trading area.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintain a positive and motivating work environment that fosters teamwork, collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations, sanitation standards and compliance requirements
  • Manage team members to meet the needs of the business to provide outstanding guest service while maintaining financial responsibility
  • Learn and understand inventory control and purchasing processes to minimize expenses and maximize profitability
  • Successfully communicate company changes/focus to the team
  • Assist with local marketing opportunities
  • Monitor guest feedback, address concerns promptly and implement corrective actions to improve guest satisfaction

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a customer service work setting preferred
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations, including food preparation, people management and guest service principles along with financial acumen and ability to understand budget plans, analyze financial data and control expenses
  • Good leadership skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, motivate team and resolve conflicts constructively
  • Open availability required
  • Ability to use a PC and Microsoft office software
  • Ability to speak, read and understand the primary language of the work location
  • Commitment to providing exceptional guest service and creating a positive and welcoming guest experience

Schedule:

● Available to work days and nights

● Available to work weekends and holidays

● Available to work a variable schedule, as per the needs of the business

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
